My name is Gina Barac, and my purpose is to reveal the true value of Colombia.
I grew up inhabiting different worlds, moving between cultures that taught me to
appreciate the precision of global design, yet my heart always belonged to the invisible
threads that tied me to my roots. On my journeys back home, I discovered that in the
deepest corners of my country lie treasures the world has yet to name: the silent wisdom
of an artisan, the patience of a weave, the alchemy of transforming the natural into
something sacred.
Helecho Collective was not born solely from my love for aesthetics, but from a strategic and deeply conscious perspective. I understood that my role is to be a curator of stories. My eye seeks the extraordinary, while my mind builds the systems that allow that talent to be sustainable and respected.
To me, curation is an act of social responsibility. It’s about entering the artisan's workshop—not to change their essence, but to amplify their voice. It’s about choosing the effortless sophistication of a clay piece or the perfect imperfection of a natural fiber over the coldness of the industrial. It is understanding that true luxury today isn’t a logo; it is the value of the story and the dignity of the person who creates it.
My mission is for Helecho to be a bridge of well-being where the world rediscovers a sophisticated, dignified, and generous Colombia. Because when the mastery of the handmade meets design with intention, craftsmanship is transformed into luxury, and our
history becomes eternal.
